If you lean towards stock market investing for technical analysis, then Wallstreet Window could be your investment newsletter. It targets stocks in the medium-term range, based on technical analysis and valuation. It also works to identify major swings in the overall stock market (trend analysis).
Who and What is WallstreetWindow
WallstreetWindow is essentially an online investment community. It is made up of independent investors, analysts, and newsletter writers, who are working to present and analyze the most important financial news of each day.
The website itself draws 100,000 visitors making 250,000 page views each month. The site also has 50,000 opt-in email subscribers. The site provides visitors with free articles on breaking news, unique perspectives on the financial markets, educational training courses, podcast interviews with industry leaders, and the premium investment advisory service.
The site and advisory service were founded by Michael Swanson. He is the author of the best-selling book Strategic Stock Trading, and the owner of WallstreetWindow.
Michael ran a hedge fund from 2003 to 2006, one that generated a return of over 78% for its investors during that timeframe. In 2005, that hedge fund was ranked in the top 35 among over 5,000 hedge funds tracked by Hedgefund.net.
WallstreetWindow has been in operation on the web since 1999. The site is filled with free and valuable information, most of it provided by Michael himself. But there’s also a premium trading service, called WallstreetWindow Power Investor. The premium service is geared toward accredited investors.
Michael emphasizes tactical analysis in his investment strategy, which is another way of saying trend analysis of the financial markets. He focuses on trends that last for just a few years, which is to say that he is neither a trader, nor a long-term buy-and-hold investor.
Michael is also a gold investor, who recommends holding positions in both physical gold and in gold stocks. At least some of the content of the website and newsletter focus on gold investing.
What You Will Get From WallstreetWindow
WallstreetWindow offers both free content and premium services.
Free Stock Market Podcasts. There is an entire page on the website that provides a very long list of Michael’s weekly investment podcasts. There is a wealth of information in these podcasts alone, including investment strategies, market trends, and interviews with prominent investors. These are free just for visiting the website, and if you also sign up for the free email you will be alerted when new podcasts are added.
The Free Email. You can sign-up for the email for free, and you will receive free trading lessons immediately. Those lessons will teach you how to use stop loss orders to control the risk in your account. Michael considers this to be a topic that most investors need help with, so that it doesn’t work against them. After that you will receive a weekly email letting you know about new free posts and information that's been added to the site. In addition, Michael does a short blog post on the website almost every day, with thoughts on the trading day ahead.
The Newsletter. The newsletter is a paid subscription. You will receive a monthly newsletter providing Michael’s in-depth technical overview of the markets, including an analysis of what he believes are the best stocks and sectors to invest in at that time. The purpose of the newsletter is to keep you focused on what is really working, and to stay informed about “the next big thing” in the financial markets, so that you’ll be prepared to get in at the right time.
Michael’s philosophy is that there is always a new bull market starting somewhere almost every single year.
WSW Power Investor
This is the premium Premium service from WallstreetWindow, and it’s called WSW Power Investor. This is an “inner circle mastermind service” that includes “everyone from taxi cab drivers and plumbers to hedge fund managers and members of the American Elite.”
Each week WSW Power Investor members get a research report from Michael in which he goes over the stocks that he has on his watch list as potential buys.
No price is given on joining this service, however Michael confirms that it’s not cheap! The trading service only opens up a few times a year; in fact, it’s currently sold out, but you can reserve for the next sign up at any time.
What Does it Cost to Join WallstreetWindow?
The online podcasts and of course the free email subscription service are both free.
You can subscribe to the newsletter for a one-time fee of $197. That’s one time, as in good for the rest of your life. There are no future charges. With the newsletter, you also get 60 days to evaluate the subscription to make sure it’s what you expected it to be. If for any reason you aren’t happy, you can cancel within 60 days to get a full refund of your money.
