Online surveys took the world by storm in the early 2000s. They presented a convenient and easy way to earn some extra income from the comfort of your home.
With the expansion of these sites, more and more companies jumped on the bandwagon, but unfortunately, with the good, we often got the bad. Scam and phishing sites also took advantage of the developments in the online market research industry, and many people had their privacy and financial information compromised. It’s vital to ensure you’re working with a reputable site.
VIP Voice is one of those sites. It rewards its members with redeemable points in exchange for participating in surveys. In this VIP Voice review, we will delve into the site in a little more detail to find the best way to earn and get maximum value from the site.

VIP Voice is an online market research community formerly known as NPD Online Research. Founded in 1966, the NPD Group through VIP Voice, partners with companies and businesses to gather data that helps them make better business decisions.
They offer in house surveys and conduct over 12 million of these studies annually. These surveys are available to participants in the US and Canada only. Additionally, US members of VIP Voice receive special discounts and exclusive offers from various well-known brands.
Points redeemed can be put to use as auction bids, also count as entry points to sweepstakes.
How Does VIP Voice Work?
VIP Voice is unique among paid survey sites. It does not reward its participants in cash or gift cards for their time and participation.
Instead, the site issues points to its online community for surveys completed. These points can be redeemed on other websites for auction bids, or sweepstake entries. While participating on the site may seem like a massive waste of time, there's more to this than meets the eye.
Participating in a few surveys can put you in with a chance of winning substantial one-time prizes, some as much as $5,000 in cash. If you do strike it lucky and win these rare prizes at auction or in a sweepstake, this win can be significant and massively boost your earnings.
Other prizes that are on up for the bidding include various consumer products, movie theatre tickets, a $5,000 VIP Voice scholarship, trips to holiday destinations, and Amazon gift cards.
How to Sign Up to VIP Voice
Signing up onto the platform is not complicated.
- Create your account at VIP Voice.
- Fill in your name, email address, date of birth, and ZIP code in either the US or Canada.
- Once you complete your Survey Profile, VIP Voice will send you an email to activate your account.
- You can then begin to earn points by taking the surveys of the offer.
- If you don’t qualify for any of the surveys, the site will alert you pretty quickly into the study, but you will still receive points for participation.
- There is also a sign-up incentive to get you going. Completing five surveys within the first 30 days of joining earns you a whopping 25,000 points.
How Can You Earn Points?
VIP Voice survey credits carry a varying amount of points, spanning five levels. The higher your level, the more points you earn.
The good thing is that the surveys are short and straightforward so that they won’t take up much of your time. As you keep completing surveys, points continue to accumulate in your account. As the points accumulate, you get access to bigger and better prizes.
Typically, a 2-minute survey on your online shopping habits could earn you 125 – 150 points. A 10-minute study exploring simple everyday topics such as what you last bought at the gas station could earn you 100 – 150 points.
Each VIP Voice point is worth one auction bid or one sweepstake entry. For the auction, you must bid higher than the current bid, but for the sweepstake entry, you can enter as many times as you wish.
Even if you don’t complete a survey, because maybe you did not qualify for it, you still get to earn participation points. Level 1 members earn 5 participation points, while level 5 members earn 50 points.
If you do complete a survey, you then get to earn qualification points. Again Level 5 members earn more points, 200 in this case, while Level 1 members earn 25 points. VIP Voice also holds the occasional content or prize draw for its members and does have a referral program to earn you even more points.
VIP Voice Rewards
The platform offers points instead of cash, which can be redeemed at two sites – BidLand or SweepLand.
BidLand is an auction-style platform that allows users with points from VIP Voice to bid on the various items on offer. The highest bidder when the auction is complete wins the prize and then has the equivalent points deducted from their account.
Prizes featured include laptops, watches, cash, hotel gift cards, and Amazon gift cards. Participants who enter the auction but don’t win the prize, have the points returned to their respective VIP Voice accounts.
SweepLand, on the other hand, is a sweepstakes program where the points gained from VIP Voice gain users entry into various sweepstakes. Each sweepstake has prizes of varying amounts.
Winners are selected at random, and each point from the participants' account is equivalent to one entry into the sweepstake. The more the points entered, the better the chances are of winning the prize.
Depending on the level of your VIP Voice account, you can have access to the larger, more lucrative prizes.
This feature has earned VIP Voice negative points in many VIP Voice reviews. There's a high chance that you may not win a prize, which can be a frustrating experience, but if you do win, the prizes on offer on these sweepstakes are amazing and include dream holidays, smart TVs, and vast amounts of cash.
Is VIP Voice Legit?
From all our online research, we can say that VIP Voice is a legitimate online survey site.
VIP Voice’s parent company the NPD Group has been around since 1966 and has had BBB accreditation since 1972. This company currently sports an A+ rating on the accreditation website, which is pretty good for a survey site. They do not, however, feature on TrustPilot.
They do also have an active following on social media platforms, namely Facebook,Twitter, and YouTube. They keep users updated on these sites by posting announcements, posting recent winners, and resolving customer complaints.
The survey panel currently has a community of 3 million members, and on their website, they have claims of thousands of people a month winning prizes.
Users can expect to get 3-5 surveys per week in their inboxes, and remarkably VIP Voice does not spam their members, which is a rarity among survey panels. This positive feature has earned them praise in many a customer VIP Voice review.
Although the rate of rewards you can earn is lower than other survey sites, and the wait for the prizes can be quite long, the lure of winning huge awards still attracts users to the site.
A few users have, however, complained that the survey panel does not pay attention to the integrity and honesty of participants’ answers. Some have cheekily filled in nonsense answers and have still received the same points as in those surveys where they had answered with honesty and truthfulness.
This factor has tarnished the site, with users believing that VIP Voice does not bother with the consistency and legitimacy of participants’ responses.
Another worrying aspect is that many users have claimed that they’ve spent years on the site without winning anything. What’s more, it does not help that VIP Voice does not list its monthly winners or winner testimonials prominently on their website.
Some have even dubbed the platform as the “closest thing to a non-paying survey site” that they’ve ever come across, dealing in “hope” rather than “actual and instant rewards.”
What are the users saying? Here are some comments from the survey review site, Survey Police.
“The site is nice at first, but there is a very, very, very long wait to get rewards after earning them.” – Toni from the United States, on June 7, 2019.
“The site is very unique in the sense that they have auctions that you can use your points on. There are no options for gift card redemptions, but you can bid and put points in sweepstakes for free stuff. It is different, and the chance of winning prizes is meager, but if you have time to kill, you shouldn't have to worry about it too much. I do get occasional meal journals that pay $25 Visa gift cards, which is one of the reasons I use this survey site still.” – Kaitlyn from the United States, on January 19, 2019.
“You earn points by doing surveys and then can bid on prize draws. I won two once. I was then told that the prizes were not available in my area and given a choice of six prizes that were considerably cheaper…” – Derek from Ontario, Canada on May 1, 2018.
VIP Voice – What’s Good and What’s Bad?
- Qualifying for surveys is much easier than on other paid survey sites. VIP Voice tailors its in-house studies to its participants as per their Survey Profile information. The chance of getting disqualified mid-survey is much lower this way.
- VIP Voice doesn’t bombard you with online adverts and will not ask you for card information. This feature gains them brownie points in many VIP Voice reviews.
- You get a chance of winning huge, life-changing, prizes. Take a few surveys and be in with a chance of bagging thousands of dollars in a sweepstake entry!
- They also offer a $5,000 scholarship prize for students. This quarterly draw is only available to those who have signed up for the first time on the platform, and who have completed two surveys
- VIP Voice won’t reward you with cash or gift cards for participating in surveys. Instead, you will accumulate points, which can be used for entries into bid auction sites or sweepstakes. This feature, in our opinion, is the biggest weakness as you may not end up winning anything on those third-party sites.
- You may have to pay to use your prize. Some gift card winners have reported this inconvenience. You may win a $25 gift card, but still, need to top up cash to claim your prize on their partner sites.
- The survey panel has been accused of not taking poll answers seriously. Some users have complained that even after filling in nonsense answers in their surveys, they would still get awarded with points.
VIP Voice is unique because unlike other paid survey sites, it does not offer direct payment methods such as PayPal deposits, ACH bank transfers, or prepaid debit/credit cards.
If you do decide to give VIP Voice a shot, be prepared to wait a while before you can enjoy your prize. The points you accumulate only offer you a chance at a bid auction or sweepstake. This feature is also its most considerable disadvantage and is the most common complaint in VIP Voice reviews. Most user comments garnered from paid survey review websites such as Survey Police, as well as on survey-themed forums online, all highlight how hard it is to win a prize on the VIP Voice platform. They liken spending time on the platform to a mere waste of time.
Some users, alarmingly, have said that they haven’t won any prizes in years!
Our opinion of VIP Voice is that although their survey and reward models could use some work, the site is, in fact, a legitimate survey site. Users should go into the site with the expectation that it’ll take some time to win a significant prize on the platform.
If instant gratification is your thing, then this is not the survey platform for you!
A few users have reported success and have given positive VIP Voice reviews. There’s always the chance remember of winning those elusive banner prizes such as the VIP Voice $5,000 scholarship, as much as $5,000 in cash and dream trips to a fun-filled destination.
Overall, from our findings, it's a hit-or-miss rewards platform. The lack of a cash reward option also does not make this survey panel suitable for those looking to make a decent regular part-time income. But take heart, there are other options here, or you can work on actual real-world mini-jobs (and get paid real money) with Survey.com.
