Answering surveys as a side gig has been a hot trend for some time now—and we understand the appeal. You get paid for basically saying what’s on your mind, which, as you know, a lot of people can’t get enough of.
In our quest to find the perfect paid survey site, we stumbled across PaidViewpoint. It’s a site that promises to pay you for your opinion. So, does it really? Is this a legitimate way to earn some cash, or is it just a complete waste of time?
We’ll find out today in one of the most honest Paidviewpoint reviews on the web!
Watching their promotional video, one really would get enticed and drawn in to sign up.
PaidViewpoint is one of the more straightforward paid survey sites available today. Users get paid for answering marketing or product-related surveys. They then get to earn cash based on how many survey questions they have answered.
The site is owned by parent company Ask Your Target Market (AYTM). They are a market research company that aims to make survey-based market research more accessible and affordable for smaller businesses. They were founded by Dave Handel and Lev Mazin.
While on a surface level, PaidViewpoint looks just like any other survey site, there are some things about it that set it apart from the crowd. First, it has no point system. Earnings are tracked in dollar amounts. This aspect makes it easy to visualize and understand, as well as make it more exciting since you see actual figures.
Unlike other survey sites where you have a list of surveys you can join in your dashboard, PaidViewpoint works in a sort of “invite-only mode.” When a relevant survey is available, a notification will be sent to you. This notification is usually an email, but it can also be via phone or SMS, depending on your settings.
These surveys usually have a set number of participants. It’s entirely possible that even if you get invited to a survey, it will be full before you respond. We recommend checking your email regularly and acting fast once you get an invite.
When you register and occasionally after that, you’ll be required to answer Trait Surveys. These are survey questions that help determine your demographic data, as well as your interests. PaidViewpoint uses these to send you surveys that are relevant to you.
The site utilizes a unique score system called TrustScore that determines how many surveys are sent to you at any given time. You also get to earn more money per question when you have a higher TrustScore, as well as avoiding qualifying questions altogether.
So, yes, it’s worth it to improve on this. You should aim to break the 9,000 points, as this is where you maximize the number of surveys and the money you earn per response.
TrustScore looks at your survey-taking behavior and assigns you a score based on how well you follow the best practices. The critical thing to do to improve this score is, to be honest when answering. You strengthen your TrustScore by answering surveys, as well as Trait Surveys.
Regardless, you’ll receive at least one survey per day. Surveys are generally effortless and fast, taking only around 5-6 minutes to complete. They average at ten questions long and have a limit of 25 items.
Based on our experience, they are generally fun and don’t take much effort to answer. If any questions require you to type in your answers, they are usually shorter in length (120-character max) to encourage brevity.
Redeeming your earnings is easy. On request, you will be credited straight to your Paypal account. There is a minimum cash out threshold of $15, though.
How Does the Site Work?
PaidViewpoint is available anywhere in the world, and anyone 13 or older can join. To register, simply provide your email address. Alternatively, you can sign up using your Facebook or Gmail account.
During the registration process, you’ll be asked to fill in some necessary information, like your name and gender. The good thing is that you’ll get paid for answering them! Most fields (like name and gender) earn you $0.04 – $0.05. You’ll also be asked for your household income, but you can decline to answer if you’re not comfortable disclosing that.
Once you’re registered, you’ll be taken to the dashboard. At this point, you’ll be given the opportunity to answer your first Trait Survey. Click on the notification to participate. Doing this is actually quite easy and will get you around $0.03 while improving your TraitScore. It’s composed of simple multiple-choice questions.
That’s it for now. You can check periodically for newly available surveys to answer. You can also change your notification settings, so you’ll be alerted either by email, phone, or SMS.
Currently, PaidViewpoint is only available via the website and doesn’t have an app, but don’t worry, you can still access it via your phone’s browser, as the site is very mobile-friendly.
You can also refer friends to PaidViewpoint via their referral program. Whenever you refer a friend, you stand to earn a 20% bonus whenever they cash out. This is an excellent option for making passive income with this platform.
Is the Site Legit?
Based on our own research, it seems like PaidViewpoint’s legality is sort of a mixed bag.
If you check its Better Business Bureau (BBB) rating (under its business name Umongous, LLC), it worryingly doesn’t have a rating and is not accredited by the BBB. It’s also indicated that the company’s mailing address is not active.
PaidViewpoint also has a low score of 2.8 out of 5 with TrustPilot, one of the most popular website monitoring sites. Most PaidViewpoint reviews rank the website are around two stars.
The biggest complaint is that it takes a very long time for users to reach the minimum $15 to be able to cash out their earnings. Some report that they don’t get many survey invites. Some even go for weeks without receiving a single survey. If it takes too long for your first cash out, then something must be wrong.
It seems like you’re better off earning through its referral program, but even then, it’s not viable. You’re basically asking people you know to join a survey site with very slow rewards. Not exactly enticing.
Some have reported more serious complaints, like not being able to cash out even though they have reached the required $15 minimum. It seems, though, that these are the exception and not the norm. Some of the positive PaidViewpoint reviews also look suspiciously “scripted,” a sentiment shared by other reviewers.
Now, this doesn’t make PaidViewpoint a scam site. We think they are a legitimate paid survey site that just so happens to pay out VERY SLOWLY. Whether we would recommend the site is another matter entirely (we’ll get to that in a moment).
The Good and the Bad
- It’s very easy to use: It’s very easy and straightforward to register with the site and use its features. The interface is clean and minimal, and everything is displayed and explained well.
- No complicated point system: Unlike most paid survey sites, PaidViewpoint keeps track of your progress in dollar amounts. This is both easier to understand and more “rewarding” for users.
- Surveys are easy to complete: With an average completion time of 5-6 minutes, PaidViewpoint surveys are one of the fastest to complete compared to other paid survey sites. They are also generally fun and easy to answer, so it never feels boring or like a grind.
- The referral program: PaidViewpoint has one of the better referral programs out there. The 20% bonus is quite generous, and it can really add up, especially if you manage to get in a lot of active users.
- Not enough surveys in the beginning: Probably our biggest complaint with PaidViewpoint is the lack of surveys in the beginning. It takes time to build up your TrustScore to get more surveys, and that point is compounded by the fact that you need to answer surveys to improve it in the first place.
It’s kind of a chicken and egg problem. The result is your progress will probably be slower at the beginning, which may put off some very impatient users.
- Small earnings per survey: PaidViewpoint’s payout per survey is generally on the low side in the beginning. With an average earning of just $0.1 per survey, it will take you a very long time to get to anything substantial. Which brings me up to my next point…
- The $15 minimum payout threshold: With the rate of earning I just described, getting to even the minimum payout amount will be a crawl.
After this extensive PaidViewpoint review, we’ve seen what this paid survey site is, and whether it is legit. While we conclude that it is not a scam, we don’t recommend it. It takes too long to earn even a small amount on PaidViewpoint.
The fact that several users took a full year just to withdraw the $15 minimum is a red flag. Your results might vary, but the risk vs. reward isn’t really worth it.
For this PaidViewpoint review, it’s a big no.
The $0.1 per survey, coupled with low availability, seriously harms the earning potential of this platform. To be honest, you’re better off with one of our recommended paid survey sites, such as Swagbucks or Toluna.
