Maybe, someone told you to join paid survey sites to make some extra money. You did, and a couple of months later, you realize you still haven’t made $50. What are you doing wrong?
The real problem is you joined the wrong paid survey sites. Some are outright scams that don’t pay their members while others pay so little you start wondering if it’s worth it.
What if there was a paid survey site that could pay you $50 for completing just one survey, though?
Mindswarms might be that site.
In this Mindswarms review, we’ll be looking into if the platform is legit, how much you can earn on it, how to join, and more.
Mindswarms is a leading market research company based in the US. The company is a part of Mindswarms Inc., which has been around for years.
Other paid survey sites require that members complete online surveys by answering written questions. In exchange, members receive cash rewards or points that are redeemable as cash or gift cards.
Check out Mindswarms reviews, and you’ll see that Mindswarms is different.
Instead of written survey questions, the platform will have you answer survey questions via video. For each question you answer, you get a cash reward.
The goal of the Mindswarms website is market research on behalf of its clients through video surveys. Every video submission from members is analyzed by Mindswarm’s team of experts to extract pertinent consumer insights and other data for clients.
The clients use the data from the surveys to improve the quality of their products/services and create effective marketing strategies.
How Does the Site Work?
To help you decide if this platform is for you, in this Mindswarms review, we’ll tell you all about how this paid survey website works.
Mindswarms is accessible via its mobile app and website. There's an app for Android and iOS devices, so there's no need to worry about your device not being compatible. The app and website are both user-friendly, featuring an easy to understand interface that lets you navigate the platform with ease.
You can sign up as a “researcher” or a “participant” via the website or mobile application. If you want to be a paid survey taker, you’ll sign up as a participant. You can sign up regardless of what country you reside, but if you’re less than 18 years old, you can’t join.
During the signup process, you’ll provide your full name, email address, and a password.
After signing up, you’ll be asked to create a short profile video. This requires that you have a stable Internet connection, and a working webcam and microphone. Without these, you won’t be able to complete the process.
Your answers in the video will be used to build your profile and determine what demographic you fall under. Depending on the quality of the video you submit and the answers you provide, your application will be accepted or rejected.
Once Mindswarms accepts your application, you can begin applying for surveys. You can view available surveys in your dashboard on the app or website. You can select any survey you like, but I was more interested in the ones with the highest rewards.
Since the displayed surveys indicate whether you are qualified to take them, you don’t have to worry about getting disqualified after starting one. The platform will use the information in your profile to determine which surveys you’re qualified to take.
After selecting a survey, you’ll be required to answer some multiple-choice questions. This takes less than a minute.
Your answers will be reviewed by a researcher within 24 hours. If your application is successful, you can begin recording your video answers to the survey.
The survey may contain between one and seven questions. You have to answer all the questions in your video recording, but your video can’t be more 45 to 60 seconds long.
Most of the surveys require that you answer in English, but other surveys allow you to respond in your native language. To be safe, only provide answers in the language the questions are provided.
If your answers are unsatisfactory or you haven’t followed Mindswarm’s guidelines, your submission will be rejected. But if your submission is accepted, you can earn up to $50 per video. I still can’t believe I got that much for completing a single online survey.
Remember that you only get $50 if the survey has seven questions. For less than seven questions, you’ll receive $10 per question.
Payment is receivable via PayPal, and you get paid within 24 hours of sending in your video survey, but don’t expect to receive any payment if your submission isn’t accepted.
On the downside, surveys aren’t that frequent. You get one to three a month. Don’t be discouraged, though, when it comes, it’s worth it.
Is the Site Legit?
Most Mindswarms reviews agree that the platform is 100 percent legit. The site will pay you within 24 hours of receiving your video, but only if your video is accepted. As long as you follow the guidelines provided by Mindswarms, this shouldn’t be a problem.
The real benefit of this is unlike other paid survey sites that make you wait weeks to get paid you receive your reward fast with Mindswarms. You can receive your reward via PayPal or redeem it as a gift card.
That said, qualifying to take a survey on the site can be difficult. The acceptance rate is pretty low, but it doesn’t mean that you can’t be one of the lucky ones. Aside from the low acceptance rate, there’s also the issue of available surveys being few and far between.
If you are lucky, you might get one survey on Mindswarms in a month. And if you’re really lucky, you might get three and qualify for all of them. If that happens, you can earn up to $150 in a single month. That’s more than most people earn from multiple survey sites in a month.
The Good and the Bad
No Mindswarms review will be complete without providing you with a list of the platform’s pros and cons.
- An enjoyable survey taking experience: I'm sure you've never done a video survey. It's actually quite enjoyable, and Mindswarms advises you to really express yourself. It’s a great way to flex your on-camera skills and get paid. Just remember to actually answer the questions and not do or say anything over the top. Not a lot of survey platforms do this other than Nielsen Mobile Panel (formerly Nielsen's Digital Voice)
- Withdraw through PayPal: PayPal is one of the fastest ways to get paid. Mindswarms makes the process even faster by processing your payment promptly. Unlike other paid survey sites that take weeks.
- You can earn big: Three surveys in a month, seven questions each, equals $150 a month on Mindswarms. Very few paid survey companies offer and deliver this.
- Open to members from all over: You are welcome to sign up on Mindswarms even if you aren’t in the US.
- Slow responses: Getting a response from Mindswarms’ customer support takes too long.
- Limited: Mindswarms only offers one to three surveys per month.
- Tricky signup: The video signup application process is a bit complicated.
- Low acceptance rate for surveys: Even if you do get a survey invite, you could be screened out.
Most Mindswarms reviews agree that the platform is one of the few paid survey sites that let people earn a substantial amount. I agree but wish Mindswarms would let its members get more surveys. But this is usually one of the more common complaints among paid survey platforms, even the best ones.
That said, what's most important is the site is legit, and it pays those whose survey submissions are accepted. So, if you are looking for a paid survey site that doesn't pay nickels and dimes, Mindswarms may be the winner you’ve been looking for.
